Offshore Aviation Group’s Unmanned Systems Center Designated on FAA VFR Sectional(MD85)Piney Point, Maryland – March 2026Offshore Aviation Group (OAG) is proud to announce that its Unmanned Systems Center at Piney Point Terminal has been formally designated on the Federal Aviation Administration(FAA) VFR Sectional Chart under the identifier MD85.

This Private Use Airfield designation by the FAA and MAA marks a significant milestone in the continued development of OAG’s Piney Point Terminal as a multi-domain aviation and maritime hub supporting unmanned systems operations, interoperability, validation and verification, and training of unmanned systems. Inclusion on the VFR sectional chart provides official recognition of the site’s operational footprint and enhances situational awareness for both civilian and government aviation users operating in the region.

The OAG Unmanned Systems Center supports a wide range of activities, including:

-Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) Validation and Verification

-Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS)  Operational Assessments

-Flight training and certification programs

-Integration of UAS with maritime and range operations

-Support for Department of Defense and government customers

The site enables integrated validation and verification across air, surface, and subsurface domains, making it uniquely suited for multiple unmanned scenarios.
